Corporate Social Responsibility

Throughout our company’s history, Trammo has recognized the need for social, economic, and environmental responsibility in all areas of our business. We strive to adopt best practices to minimize, where possible, the impact of our business on communities and the environment. Trammo is committed to complying with or exceeding all applicable legislation and standards.  We aim to act as a responsible corporate citizen by maintaining a close dialogue with our stakeholders.

We believe in free and transparent trade to foster economic development and growth. Within this context, Trammo participates in the World Bank’s research aiming at reducing barriers to agricultural trade. More specifically and on the basis of its global footprint, Trammo contributes to the World Bank’s study “Enabling the Business of Agriculture” focusing on the laws and regulations that relate to agricultural productivity, market access and the policy environment for agriculture.  The study aims to provide national policy makers with sufficient data to help them formulate regulations and policies that promote agriculture and agribusiness. Trammo’s CSR involvements include cooperation with Peter Baumann Foundation, launched in 2002 by our late CEO. Peter’s vision was to provide humanitarian aid (notably access to adequate education and medical assistance) to people in need, particularly in those countries where he had a connection through his work for the company.

Furthermore, Trammo has become a supporter of the Great Bay Stewards (see also:, a New Hampshire non-profit organization, whose mission is to protect and preserve the vitality of the Great Bay estuarine ecosystem. Trammo’s subsidiary, Sea-3, Inc., operates a propane terminal located on the Piscataqua River, into which New Hampshire’s Great Bay empties. We believe that properly managed commercial activity and nature reserves can co-exist compatibly to guarantee the interests of future generations.

In line with the growth of our business, we continue to update our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy in the regions in which we operate.

Code of Conduct

At Trammo, we pride ourselves on our reputation for acting fairly and ethically, wherever we do business. Our reputation is built on our values as a company, the values of our employees, and our collective commitment to acting with integrity throughout our organization. We strive to develop relationships with business partners who share our corporate values and respect internationally recognized standards. Trammo’s Code of Conduct consists of the following principles:

Labor Practices and Human Rights

  • We recruit, hire, and promote employees solely on the basis of merit and suitability for the job and not race, color, age, national origin, religion, political affiliation, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability. 
  • Our working conditions are in accordance with international standards and applicable legal requirements regarding human rights, health, safety, and fairness. 
  • Our policies prohibit harassment or discrimination of employees of any kind. 
  • We do not hire children, as that term is defined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and do not engage in involuntary labor or bonded or forced labor. 
  • We respect the right of our employees to freedom of association and to be represented by trade unions and other bona fide representatives. 


  • The products purchased or sold and the services provided by us meet applicable legal health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • We aim to protect the environment and encourage our business partners to respect applicable environmental standards.


  • We do not condone bribery, fraud, or any other form of corruption.
  • We expect our employees and business partners to comply with the letter and spirit of applicable anti-corruption legislation and to refrain from making gifts or payments that have an appearance of impropriety. 


  • We do not tolerate anti-competitive behavior, such as price-fixing and bid-rigging.
  • We comply with applicable competition legislation and regulations.
